Sophia McCourt, LPC
Sophia specializes in supporting young moms as they navigate the complex emotional terrain of identity, postpartum depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the everyday challenges of parenting.
She offers a fresh, approachable perspective while creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can show up as their full and evolving selves.
With a person-centered and integrative approach, Sophia is deeply committed to understanding each woman’s story honoring the intersections of motherhood, personal identity, and emotional wellbeing. She helps clients process the changes that come with pregnancy, birth, early parenthood, and shifting family roles. Whether a client is redefining who they are, adjusting to a new season, or healing from the lingering effects of childhood trauma that has resurfaced in relationships or motherhood, Sophia provides grounded, evidence-based support.
Her trauma-informed work empowers moms to build emotional resilience, strengthen their sense of self, and create healthier, more connected relationships with themselves and their families. She equips clients with practical tools to manage overwhelm, regulate emotions, and confidently navigate both the visible and unspoken demands of motherhood.
Sophia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Kent State University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University. She is passionate about making therapy accessible and meaningful, and she values walking with clients through every season of life as they move toward healing and growth.
